Frontier Customer DNS Information

General Information

Please e-mail all DNS and domain related requests and questions to hostmaster@support.ftr.com.

Frontier's DNS Support staff operating hours are Mon-Fri 8:00am - 5:00pm ET. All DNS requests and functions will be responded to and/or processed within this time-frame and will be completed within two (2) business days of receipt.

Please be as explicit and complete as possible in your email as to what services you are requesting so that we may serve you in the timeliest fashion.

Frontier as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) will NOT

  • register new domains for customers
  • make attempts to modify existing domain records with any domain registrar
  • troubleshoot configuration or functionality problems in DNS servers outside of our direct control

Domain registration and maintenance are the responsibility of the domain's Administrative or Technical/Zone contact. Registrations and modifications are accomplished through an ICANN accredited domain registrar. Frontier will provide guidance or direct you to an appropriate resource as needed.

Service Affecting Issues

Support for emergency/service affecting issues should be initiated by sending an e-mail to hostmaster@support.ftr.com.

A ticket will be created to track the issue and you will receive a reference number in an automated response: please follow the escalation instructions contained in that message.

If this issue is known to be affecting your domain's ability to send or receive inbound or outbound e-mail, please send the request via an alternate e-mail provider.

Please provide any relevant information in your initial trouble report (i.e. contact information, reason for request, affected service, when the problem started, recent changes, etc...).
